TASK 02

I chose the werewolf, Adolf, as the character for my card design. I plan to illustrate a scene of him climbing a mountain to symbolize his admirable courage and fearless spirit.

RATIONALE

Adolf is a brave, determined, and adventurous character. He is not afraid to take risks and constantly seeks to push his own limits in pursuit of new experiences. Because of these traits, I chose “courage” as the central theme for this card design. Through Adolf, I hope to convey a message about facing challenges head-on and never giving up, no matter how difficult the journey may seem.

I chose mountain climbing as the visual concept because mountains are often symbolic of the challenges and obstacles we face in life. Every step uphill represents a test of strength, endurance, and self-belief. This setting perfectly aligns with Adolf’s personality—resilient, fearless, and always striving to become better. By illustrating Adolf climbing a mountain, I aim to portray his strong will and unwavering determination to overcome any barrier in his path.

This concept not only highlights Adolf’s heroic traits, but also serves as a metaphor for personal growth, turning him into a symbol of inner strength and perseverance in the face of adversity.

TECHNIQUES APPLIED

In this project, I used the golden spiral composition to guide the layout and lead the viewer’s eye toward the main focus of the scene. To enhance the lighting and atmosphere, I added subtle filters for a more dynamic and cohesive look. I also applied some special effects in Adobe Illustrator to make the overall design stand out more visually.

REFLECTIONS

This project gave me a deeper understanding of character design and visual composition. Although the process was challenging—especially when dealing with details and lighting adjustments—I felt a strong sense of accomplishment as the piece came together. I also learned how to use different tools in Adobe Illustrator to enhance the visual impact of my work. Overall, this task not only improved my technical skills but also gave me more confidence to take on more complex creative projects in the future.
