REFLECTIONS
Experience
In this semester, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of
observation and self-evaluation in typographic design. Throughout the entire
process—from research and information extraction to design development and
application—I came to realize that typography is not merely a visual
arrangement, but a form of decision-making grounded in content, audience,
and reading logic. Through continuous experimentation and refinement, I
learned to evaluate my design decisions more rationally, achieving a balance
between visual expression and functional clarity.
Observation
Throughout this semester’s task, I came to recognise observation as a
fundamental skill in typographic design. By analysing both design examples
and my own work, I observed that clear information hierarchy, structural
consistency, and attention to detail play a crucial role in readability and
overall communication.
Findings
Through this period of learning, I came to recognize typography as a
fundamental element in many forms of everyday design. Balancing visual
appeal with effective communication of information is an essential
challenge in typographic design. This realization encouraged me to
continuously consider the relationship between form and function, and to
approach layout structure and information hierarchy in a more systematic
manner.
