REFLECTIONS

Experience
Throughout this semester, I have gained valuable insights and taken my understanding of typography to the next level. From the initial Type Expression project to Text Formatting and finally type design, I have learned about various aspects of design that go far beyond surface-level aesthetics. Typography may appear simple, but in reality, it involves complex considerations and attention to detail. I am truly grateful to Mr. Vinod for his thoughtful guidance—offering us creative freedom while also helping us correct our technical missteps along the way. This module has not only deepened my comprehension of type and layout design but also taught me how to balance structure with creativity, laying a solid foundation for my future in design.

Observation
Through this period of learning, I’ve come to realize that typography requires constant observation and careful study of subtle details. Even the smallest adjustments can lead to significantly different visual outcomes. While this presents a great challenge, it also brings an immense sense of accomplishment when things fall into place.

Findings
Through this module, I’ve come to realize that I still have significant room for improvement in my design skills—especially in terms of creativity in typography. This course has opened my eyes to how diverse and expressive typographic design can be. I’ve also learned how crucial balance and attention to detail are in creating layouts that are both visually appealing and easy to read. Moving forward, I plan to study the layouts of magazines, newspapers, and books more closely in order to strengthen my understanding and improve my weaknesses.
